Of the whole trip, the place my parents liked most wasn't a city hotel — it was this one.

Getting there
My father drove us in.
After booking, the property emailed one piece of advice: it's about a 200 m walk from reception to the bungalows, so arrive before dark. They were right — the bridge looked like it would be risky at night.
Staff carry your luggage. No check-in after midnight; if you'll be late, message them on WhatsApp (+66 99 551 4514) in advance.
If you're coming from the city you can ask the property to arrange a taxi, and we were told that booking a full-day elephant experience for two or more includes a free round trip from the city or airport.

Bungalows
My family stayed on the left, my parents on the right.

A TV crew on our night
The crew of the Korean travel show 'Jimssalabium' (ENA) was filming at the property that day — it aired on August 22 as episode 4, the Chiang Mai elephant hotel episode.
We were in the restaurant for dinner when a large crew suddenly arrived. I'd never really seen a show being filmed, so it was fun to watch.

Food
It's hard to go out, so we ate at the on-site restaurant — a big menu and better than expected. Breakfast was included, and we were happy with it the next morning.

Pros and cons with parents and a child
We booked the elephant wake-up call: in the morning an elephant comes to the bungalow and you can feed it — the photo below is from that morning.
Good: older travelers tend to love nature, and my parents were very satisfied.
Not so good: there's a walking section to the bungalows, so check ahead if anyone has limited mobility.
I expected it to be great with a child, but mine was timid and didn't want to feed the elephants.

Who it's for
Families who put the elephant experience first and want one quiet day outside the city. It fits nicely with Doi Inthanon.
Elephant riding and bathing could also be booked; we didn't do either.
FAQ
What is the elephant wake-up call like?
If you book it, an elephant comes up to your bungalow in the morning and you can feed it yourself. My child was timid and didn't want to, though.
Is it OK with kids?
My child was timid and didn't want to feed the elephants. It's also about a 200 m walk from reception to the bungalows, so think about whether your child actually likes elephants.
Is it suitable for older parents?
My parents, who love nature, were very happy. There is a walking section and a bridge to the bungalows, so check ahead if anyone has limited mobility.
What if we arrive late?
No check-in after midnight; if you'll be late, message them on WhatsApp (+66 99 551 4514). The bridge to the bungalows looked risky after dark, so I'd arrive before sunset.
How do you get there from Chiang Mai city?
About 1 hour by car. You can ask the property for a taxi, and we were told that booking a full-day elephant experience for two or more includes a free round trip from the city or airport.
Where do you eat?
There's nothing around, so we ate at the on-site restaurant — a big menu and good food. Breakfast was included.
Do they offer elephant riding or bathing?
The property offered both riding and bathing; we chose not to do either.
